Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Aquagence LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use Aquagent, why, and what control you have over it. We've tried to write it in language you can actually read.

The short version

• Your vessel's knowledge base — manuals, logs, notes, photos, video, voice — belongs to you.
• We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• Each vessel's knowledge base is isolated. One boat's information is never used to answer another's questions.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, at any time.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — name, email, password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
• Vessel information — name, make and model, year, length, registration and HIN, home port, and crew you invite.
• Records you create — maintenance logs, tasks, notes, costs and labour hours.
• Files you upload — manuals and documents, photos, video, voice notes.
• Messages to the assistant — what you type or speak, and the answers returned.
• Anything you send by email or through a form on this website.

Collected automatically

• Basic technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, timestamps.
• Vessel telemetry, if you choose to connect a NMEA 2000 gateway — engine hours, pressures, temperatures and similar readings from your own equipment. Only collected if you set it up.

How we use it

• To run the service: storing your records and making them answerable.
• To answer your questions by retrieving relevant passages from your own material.
• To keep the service secure and diagnose faults.
• To contact you about your account and, during the beta, to ask for feedback.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use your vessel data for advertising.

AI processing

Aquagent uses third-party AI providers to interpret questions, transcribe voice and video, read images and documents, and generate answers grounded in your material. Relevant content is sent to those providers for processing.

The providers we use, and what each does:

• OpenAI — generating the assistant's text answers
• ElevenLabs — the voice assistant (speech in and out)
• NVIDIA — transcribing and describing uploaded video

[ Confirm before launch: that each provider's API is configured so your content is not used to train their models, and link to their policies. This is a question serious prospects ask, and answering it plainly is a competitive advantage. ]

Who else sees your data

Only service providers who help us operate Aquagent, and only as much as they need:

• Database, authentication and file storage — Supabase
• Application hosting — Railway
• AI processing — OpenAI, ElevenLabs, NVIDIA (see above)
• Email delivery — [ confirm provider ]
• Website form handling — Formspree

We may also disclose information if legally required, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. If Aquagence LLC is ever acquired, your data may transfer as part of that transaction, and we'll tell you before it does.

Crew and shared vessels

Crew you invite to a vessel can see that vessel's records. If you're invited to someone else's vessel, the owner controls that data. Remove crew access at any time.

Your data, your call

• Access — ask for a copy of what we hold.
• Export — full self-service export is being built. Until it ships, email us and we'll get you your records.
• Correction — edit in the app, or ask us.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your account and its data, subject to anything we're legally required to retain.
• Marketing — unsubscribe from any email, or reply and tell us.

Email hello@aquagent.ai for any of these. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we'll honour those.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active. After deletion we remove your data within [ 30 / 60 / 90 ] days, except where we're legally required to retain something.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted to people who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure and we won't claim otherwise — but if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you.

Cookies

This marketing site uses only what's needed to function. The application uses cookies to keep you signed in. [ Update if you add analytics — and prefer a cookieless, privacy-respecting option. ]

Children

Aquagent isn't intended for anyone under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

Material changes will update the date above and be notified to account holders by email.
